Out Of Trust Dealer; When To Throw In The Towel?

The last 4 months, I have been working for a Pontiac, Buick, GMC Dealer that has been out of trust with GMAC.

"Out Of Trust" occurs when a dealer uses the money for other purposes after selling a car. A Dealer does not own all the cars that you see at a dealership. They are usually, in most cases, under a floor plan with the corporation. In my situation, a GMAC Floor Plan. After a dealership sells the car, they are supposed to pay off the car with GMAC and use any profit for other purposes. The Dealer I worked for was using all of the money for other purposes and not paying the floor plan money owed. On top of this, they were not paying off trade ins! A customer would trade a car and call back 3 months later saying the payoff was still not made!

The economic times have caused many dealers to rob from Peter to pay Paul, but this can only last so long. I saw the writing on the wall and left recently as I cannot in good conscience see this happen to unsuspected buyers. Although the economy has had some affect, poor money management would be a more logical explanation.

If you are working at a dealership, when do you know that it is time to go. One of the best clues is when you are not getting any new inventory. We went from 300 cars on the ground to 40! Another cause for concern is when you have to check a key out with a GMAC Representative. GMAC or other flooring companies will send in reps to manage inventory to ensure there inventory is paid on time. We had to pay a car off before we could deliver it. Just remember this, the Dealer Principal or Owner will be the last to tell you there is a problem. They have the mentality that they can sell there way out of a bad situation, but most of the time they cannot. They will always tell you that it is business as usual and things will be straightened out, most of the time they are not.

If you work at a dealership that has concerns, find another dealer to work for, PERIOD! Most dealers do not have money problems because they have managed there dealerships correctly. Go to work for a dealer that has sufficient inventory, do not wait on the gates to be locked!

It was the hardest thing for me to do since I was at this dealership for 10 years, but I had to move on. Change is inevitable and we must change with the times. I wish the dealer I left all the hope and luck that they survive, but it is time for a new chapter in my life. I am one of those that hates change, but am actually looking forward to this new move.

2009 GM Rebates; November Incentives For Buyers

It is nearing the end of the year and the 2009 Rebates and incentives for GM are getting better and bigger! But, remember on 2009 models, they are getting slim and first come will get the best selection. There are even 2010 rebates and incentives that are very attractive. There are several GM models that have 0%, but remember, you may come out better taking the rebate, so figure it both ways.

November 2009 Pontiac Rebates and Incentives:
Pontiac G6 (all) $3500 or 0% for 72 months, Pontiac G8 $3500 or 0% for 72 months, Pontiac G3 $2500 or 0% for 72 months, Pontiac G5 $2500 or 0% for 72 months, Pontiac Vibe $2500 or 0% for 72 months, Pontiac Torrent and Solstice $2500 or 0% for 72 months. Not much has changed with regards to Pontiac Rebates, but next month there will probably be NO rebates or incentives on Pontiacs as they are winding down so dont miss out.

November 2009 Buick Rebates and Incentives:
2009 Buick Enclave $2000 or 0% for 60 months, Buick LaCrosse $2500, Buick Lucerne $3000 or 0% for 72 months. The Buicks also offer an extra $500 Rebate if you choose not to participate in the 60 Day Satisfaction Guarantee offered by GM.

November 2009 GMC Rebates and Incentives:
GMC Acadia $2000 or 0% for 60 Months, GMC Canyon Reg. Cab $500 or 0% for 60 months, GMC Canyon Ext/Crew $1500, GMC Envoy $3500, GMC Regular Cab Sierra $2000 or 0% for 60 months, GMC Sierra Ext/Crew $3500 or 0% for 60 months, GMC Sierra 2500/3500 Reg. GMC Also has an extra $500 rebate on each vehicle if you choose not to participate in the 60 Day Satisfaction Guarantee.

There are several Private Offers going on in November for the 2010 Buick LaCrosse and the 2010 GMC Terrain. There is a $1000 Private Offer Loyalty Bonus Cash/Conquest Bonus Cash on the 2010 Buick LaCrosse and the 2010 GMC Terrain. This is mailed to select customers that own a 1999 or newer GM or Non-GM vehicle that may be interested in a 2010 Buick LaCrosse or a 2010 GMC Terrain.

If you are a USAA Member, do not forget to check with them before purchasing a 2009 or 2010 GM Vehicle as GM is offering an extra $750 Private Offer to USAA members. There is a $1000 private offer for those that experience a total loss and a USAA member.

There are also certain credit union agreements with GM now that allows the buyer to purchase a vehicle at supplier pricing. They do not have to finance with credit union, but do have to obtain authorization thru the credit union before purchase. This applies to All Credit Union Members Nationwide to get Special Pricing with GM.

There is another GM rebate that is being offered for select areas that have lost their local GM dealer. If your local GM dealer closed due to GM's restructure, you may qualify for a "Free Agent" Bonus Cash. This simply means that you do not have a local dealer and you have to driver further to purchase your vehicle. You may qualify for between $1000 and $2000 depending on how far you must drive to get to another GM Dealer. There will be an estimated 5.1 million "Free Agents" by October 2010.

General Motors has one of the most extensive Rebate and Incentive structures ever. You almost have to have a law degree to follow all the different ways you can use your rebates and incentives and which are compatible. The best thing you can do is see your local dealer so they can figure your best options or submit your request through Yahoo to all your local dealers at one time to get FREE Price Quotes at Yahoo!
